Former Nigerian champions Plateau United are expected to officially announce Abdu Maikaba as their head coach for the coming season in the country this Friday, thepredictorng.com can report.

Club sources informed that Maikaba has agreed terms with the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and will complete a possible two-year deal with an option to extend.

Maikaba will replace Kennedy Boboye whose contract was not renewed by the Jos club after it ran out following the club’s exit from the AITEO Cup.

The appointment of Maikaba represents a maor coup for Plateau United as the coach was in the books of Akwa United in the past two seasons.

Maikaba clinched the job ahead of Brazilian trainer Rafael Everton who was among Plateau United’s target to replace Boboye.

Maikaba has also previously worked as Wikki Tourists head coach.
