Nigeria midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has been rewarded with a new long-term deal at Premier League side Leicester City, the club announced on Sunday.

According to the club, Ndidi has signed a six-year contract extension that will keep “him at King Power Stadium until June 2024.”

“Leicester City Football Club is delighted to confirm that Wilfred Ndidi has signed a new contract, keeping him at King Power Stadium until June 2024,” the Foxes confirmed on their website.

The former Nigeria U20 star is “very happy” with his contract extension at the King Power Stadium and now looks forward to “more fantastic moments.”

“I’m very happy to sign this contract with Leicester City. I have enjoyed every moment of my time with the Football Club, so I’m thrilled to be here for six more years. Together with my team-mates and our wonderful supporters, I hope we can look forward to many more fantastic moments,” Ndidi told the club’s website.

At 21, Ndidi has already developed into a mainstay in the Leicester setup and the club boss Claude Puel has come to regard him as a key member of his guard.

Last season Ndidi made 138 tackles in the Premier League. No player came close to his feat last term.

Already he has played all minutes in his club’s Premier League matches this season against Manchester United and Wolves.
