Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr will have the chance to see the Europa League match between his former employers Girondin Bordeaux and FK Ventspils who have Adeleke Akinyemi and Tosin Aiyegun in their books.
The second leg, second qualifying round match will be played at Matmut Atlantique with Bordeaux going into the contest with a goal lead.
Rohr, who played and managed at the French club, will attend the game according to reports in France and this now coincides with the chance to see Akinyemi and Aiyegun.
However Rohr’s presence at the game is an opportunity to scout the players.
The pair have impressed in their own rights for their Latvian club this season. Akinyemi scored five goals for Ventspils in their 8-3 aggregate win over Albanian club Luftetari in the previous round of the Europa League while Aiyegun netted once.
There is also a third Nigerian at the club, Abdullahi Alfa, who is a former U20 national team player. Alfa scored the other goal to ensure it was a clean sweep by Nigerians against the Albanian side.
