Scottish Premier League side Rangers FC have completed the signing of Nigeria striker Umar Sadiq from AS Roma.
The 21-year-old joins from the Serie A club on a season-long loan which is still subject to international clearance, according to Rangers.
“Rangers are delighted to announce the signing of Umar Sadiq on a season long loan from Roma, subject to international clearance,” The Gers announced on Tuesday following the capture of the lanky forward.
Sadiq arrived Edinburgh late on Monday night as Rangers aimed to beat UEFA’s deadline to have him among their squad for their Europa League first qualifying round match against Macedonian outfit FK Shkupi on Thursday.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is a big admirer of the Nigeria striker and stopped at nothing to get his man in before the deadline to make Sadiq eligible for the Europa League match this Thursday.
Sadiq, valued around £3 million, is Gerrard’s ninth signing since the Englishman took charge at Rangers.
He spent last season at Dutch Eredivisie side NAC Breda where he scored five goals in 12 appearances. Sadiq has had loan spells at Bologna and Torino since joining Roma from Spezia in June 2015.
