Struggling Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) outfit Kwara United have named Abubakar Bala as their manager for the rest of the season.
The club announced in a statement made available to thepredictorng.com that the former Niger Tornadoes head coach will be officially unveiled “to the public on Wednesday.”
Bala replaces former Nigeria under-20 head coach John Obuh who parted ways with the club “mutually.”
“Former Niger Tornadoes coach Abubakar Bala has been appointed as the new technical adviser of Kwara United.
He replaces John Obuh who recently resigned his position, following the not too impressive performance of the club in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
Coach Bala is expected to be unveiled to the public on Wednesday at the conference room of the Indoor Hall, Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin by 4pm,” the club stated.
This means that Bala will take charge of their next league game which will be at home to Kano Pillars on March 25 since they will be excused owing to their opponents for this weekend Plateau United featuring in the CAF Champions League.
Bala already recognizes that his first job will be to steer the club out of the bottom-four and to safety.
“It is a big task before me and the other coaches and the team. We will work together to escape (relegation) as I want the cooperation of everyone at the club,” he told thepredictorng.com on Tuesday.
Bala, who was close to completing a move to second tier side Gombe United, was relieved of his position as head coach of Tornadoes few days before the start of this NPFL season despite guiding them to the final of the Aiteo Cup last year.
