NPFL prediction: The Predictor v Fisayo Dairo

The head-to-head between George Akpayen also known as The Predictor and’s chief football writer Fisayo Dairo continues.

Dairo has taken the lead going into Matchday 3 having picked a correct score in the previous matchday of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Invitational.

The pair enter into the third round of the challenge on Friday in a tournament that is yet to produce a win.

Super Eagles v Enyimba

The Predictor: I strongly believe this game will throw up the first win of the NPFL Invitational. The Eagles head coach Salisu Yusuf is sure to make wholesome changes to the team that drew 0-0 with Plateau United on Wednesday. Enyimba on the other have at least 12 players out injured and defender Uche John is suspended for this game. I expect the People’s Elephant to become first team to win at the pre-season tournament.

The Predictor’s prediction: 0-1

Dairo: It has surprisingly been a tournament of stalemates and this particular fixture looks pretty much like another good shout for that, to me. Eagles will ring the changes meaning there’ll be chemistry issues while Enyimba will want to have a go. I see them inseparable.

Dairo’s prediction: 1-1

Kano Pillars v MFM FC

The Predictor: Kano Pillars showed that Rabiu Ali has a big influence in the side and his absence was quite felt though the attacking pair of Nyima Nwagua and Junior Lokosa gave glimpse of what to expect in the coming season. MFM had just 14 players in their first game, but still got a point off Akwa United. This is going to be a tough game for the Olukoya Boys but I think this will end in a draw.

The Predictor’s prediction: 1-1

Dairo: Pillars laboured against Akwa on Wednesday and I think MFM will make them work too. For world peace, I’m going for a win for the hosts, I don’t really know how it will happen.

Dairo’s prediction: 2-1
