George Akpayen also known as The Predictor and aclsports.com’s Fisayo Dairo, the guest for the coverage of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Invitational Tournament in Kano both fired blanks on the opening day.

The opening two games ended in draws and leaves the pair with no score after two matches. For the second time in the tournament, the two men go head to head again as Matchday 2 of the NPFL serves up two tantalizing contests at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

It is expected to be a packed house as Kano Pillars play host to Akwa United and the Super Eagles face NPFL champions Plateau United in Wednesday’s schedule of the pre-season tournament.

MATCHDAY 2 GAMES

Kano Pillars v Akwa United

The Predictor: Pillars will have the psychological edge for this game after defeating Akwa United 3-0 on Sunday in the Ahlan Cup final. At the same time, players of the Kano club will look more rested than their opposition who will play their fourth game in five days. Abdu Maikaba’s men already look disadvantaged to me and Pillars are favourites to win this.

The Predictor’s prediction: 2-1

Dairo: The odds favour hosts Pillars in this one regardless of both teams’ friendly meeting on Sunday. I however will be bold to call this a goals filled stalemate.

Dairo’s prediction: 2-2

Super Eagles v Enyimba

The Predictor: The Super Eagles made up of players from NPFL clubs, which many now refer to CHAN Eagles, regroup for the first time since September when they lost the WAFU Cup of Nations final to Ghana. I really do not expect a totally cohesive play from them though they have a very strong playing personnel. I feel Enyimba players will be keen to impress their new head coach Paul Aigbogun who is not really liked among a large number of the club’s faithful. Aigbogun and his men will take the full points in this.

The Predictor’s prediction: 1-2

Dairo: Plateau United disappointed against Enyimba despite having a man advantage for about 3/4 of the game. It will even be more difficult against a team that supposedly has the best legs in the league. I’m calling this a win for Salisu Yusuf’s men.

Dairo’s prediction: 1-0
