Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) sides Enyimba, MFM FC and Plateau United have listed Katsina United playmaker as one of their targets ahead of the coming season, thepredictorng.com can report.
It is understood that Nigerian champions Plateau United are very keen on bringing in Ashadi on time before the league kicks off as they fear that a number of their players could jump ship in the coming season after Philip Azango moved to Slovakian side AS Trencin.
They also fear that Peter Eneji could be on his way out following an impressive performance at the WAFU Cup in Ghana last month.
Already Plateau United have reportedly hooked Ashadi’s teammate Chinedu Udechukwu and are hoping that as well as the lure of playing in the CAF Champions League will sway things in their favour.
Two-time African champions Enyimba are also serious about landing the playmaker. Usually it is the hierarchy at Enyimba who make most of the recruitment even before their manager make his call.
Currently Enyimba are yet to renew Gbenga Ogunbote’s contract after he led them to a third place finish which earned the club a CAF Confederation Cup spot. Despite being linked with Ghanaian coach Maxwell Konadu recently which they debunked, the Peoples Elephant have proceeded with recruitment of players in their usual style.
Modest outfit, MFM, owned by one of the biggest churches in Nigeria, are also interested in Ashadi as they will make a debut appearance at the CAF Champions League next year.
However, thepredictorng.com sources at the club say they will also look elsewhere as they are aware that some of the countrys heavyweights are also in the race to sign the midfielder.
Ashadi in his first season in Nigeria’s top division scored five goals and provided five assists for Katsina United.
