Imama Amapakabo has officially been named head coach at Nigeria Profesional Football League (NPFL) side El-Kanemi Warriors ahead of the 2017-18 season.
Amapakabo was unveiled in Maiduguri on Tuesday after he agreed to a one-year deal.
The financial terms of the contract remain undisclosed however.
The former Enugu Rangers manager knows he has a job to do in the northeast with El-Kanemi and explained he is up for the challenge.

“It is a new challenge for me,” he told thepredictorng.com.
“As a coach I am always ready for challenges. I have worked in different places in the country so this is another chapter in my book which I am ready to face. If I wasn’t ready for it, I wouldn’t be here (in Maiduguri).”
Amapakabo has already visited the club’s camp in Maiduguri GRA near NUJ office.
Spokesman of the club, Prince Anthony Obaseki, further revealed to thepredictorng.com that Amapakabo will work with two assistant coaches.
“He has signed a year contract and will work with two assistant coaches – a goalkeeping coach and another assistant,” Obaseki informed.
Ernest Eziwo and goalkeeping coach Shaibu Suleiman will work with Amapakabo for the coming season.
In 2016, Amapakabo led Enugu Rangers to the league title for the first time in 32 years but six months after his feat with the club, he was relieved of his duties.
Amapakabo replaces Ladan Bosso who left El-Kanemi after his contract at the club was not renewed after guiding them to a sixth-placed finished in the NPFL last season.
