Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Abia Warriors have named Brazilian Rafael Everton as their new manager for the 2017/18 season.
The club in a statement issued on Thursday evening simply confirmed that the Brazilian has been signed.
“Abia Warriors FC sign Brazilian Rafael Everton as New Manager,” the club offered in a very brief statement issued by their spokesman Igwe Onuoha.
Everton comes in to take the place of Abdullahi Biffo who held the role last season but is currently in the United States on a coaching course, thepredictorng.com was informed.
Thepredictorng.com understands that Everton is already in Umuahia where he watched Abia Warriors train on Thursday morning.
Everton had previously worked with FC Ifeanyiubah which has its home ground located about 120 kilometres away from where he will be working once the new NPFL season begins.
The Brazilian did guide FC Ifeanyiubah to win the Federation Cup (now Aiteo Cup) in 2016 before he opted to leave the Nnewi club after he was seconded to the club’s youth team.
Abia Warriors and Everton have decided to keep additional details of their relationship undisclosed.
The NPFL club are expected to unveil the Brazilian coach next week in Umuahia, thepredictorng.com has been told.
