Zambia’s preparation for their crucial 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying game in Nigeria got a boost and a hit at the same time as Enock Mwepu joined the team’s camp in Accra, Ghana while Edward Chilufya will miss the game.
According to the team manager Chris Chibuye, FC Liefering midfielder Mwepu nicknamed Computer arrived in the Accra camp on Tuesday.
Chibuye further revealed to Fazfootball.com that teenage striker Chilufya will not be part of the trip to Nigeria as he needs to sort out work permit issues at his new club in Sweden and has now been excused by the Zambia head coach Wedson Nyirenda.
However Patson Daka is yet to join camp and is now expected to team up with the Chipolopolo in Nigeria this week before the game.
The Zambians will fly out of Accra to Nigeria on Wednesday ahead of the World Cup qualifying game on Saturday.
Nyirenda’s men need an outright win to stay in the race for a first World Cup appearance as Nigeria lead their group by three points.
