Tammy Abraham has declared that he remains available for England at the international level despite the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) claiming the striker is close to switching his allegiance to the African nation.
The 19-year-old explained that he has not accepted to swap the England shirt for that of Nigeria after meeting with the NFF president Amaju Pinnick last Saturday.
Tammy explained that he only met with Pinnick who is a friend of his father.
“I have informed The FA that I remain available for selection for England.
“Contrary to reports in the media I would like to clarify that I have not agreed to switch my national team allegiance.
“I can confirm I met the President of the NFF after our last game against Tottenham at Wembley on Saturday given he is a friend of my father.
“However, any suggestion that I have made a decision to change my international representation is incorrect and wide of the mark,” the striker was quoted as saying by BBC.
Pinnick said his talk with Tammy took “an appreciable level now.”
