Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo has completed a move to Spanish modest outfit CD Leganés after his parent club Chelsea agreed to farm him out for another season.
The 24-year-old is now going on his sixth loan spell away from the London club since joining the Blues in January 2012 from Standard Liege.
CD Leganés confirmed the defender’s signing on loan for the rest of the season agreeing a fee with Chelsea.
“CD Leganés and Chelsea FC reach an agreement for the loan of Kenneth Josiah Omeruo for the next season. The international of Nigeria, who is 24 years old, will stay in CD Leganés during the 2018/19 season after playing in the Russia World Cup,” CD Leganés announced on their website on Wednesday.
Omeruo’s move to the Spanish La Liga side brings to an end speculation about where he would play his football this season as he remains down the pecking order of defenders at Stamford Bridge.
The Super Eagles defender has previously played on loan at ADO Den Haag, Middlesbrough, Kasimpasa and Alanyaspor and was reportedly believed to be heading to another Turkish side Goztepe SK before CD Leganes hooked him.
