Manchester United midfielder Tosin Kehinde has held a rare meeting with Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr in London.
The meeting has now sparked off reports that the 19-year-old may have pledged his international future to the west African nation with a few members of his family present during the meeting.
Rohr is in London with Nigeria’s Super Eagles ahead of their pre-World Cup friendly against Serbia on Tuesday and took time to meet the young midfielder.
The teenager has come close to making his debut this season after training with the Manchester United first-team in December last year.
Kehinde has also not hidden his aspiration of playing for Nigeria.
“Of course I’d be elated to play at the World Cup. It’s every footballers dream. Playing at any level for Nigeria would bring me pride. But I believe in myself enough to know I can bring something great to the Super Eagles first team,” he was quoted as saying recently.
Kehinde has played 15 times in the Premier League 2 for United’s Under-23s.
He joined the Red Devils in July 2014.
