Deportivo La Coruna goalkeeper Francis Uzoho is set to start in Friday’s pre-World Cup friendly for Nigeria’s Super Eagles against Poland in Wroclaw.
Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr dropped the hint in a veiled comment that the goalkeeper will start in the international friendly at the Municipal Stadium.
However before that hint of Uzoho getting his first start on Friday, the teenage goalkeeper has already been propped up by Rohr and his backroom staff.

First, Rohr was reported to have sent his goalkeeping coach Pionetti Enrico to Spain to keep tabs on the young goalkeeper amid lingering debate of who becomes Nigeria’s one custodian after Carl Ikeme was diagnosed as suffering from leukaemia last year.
However Uzoho has spent more time in camp with the Super Eagles ahead of the Poland as Ikechukwu Ezenwa who had taken over between the sticks since Ikeme’s ill-health only arrived just two days before the warm-up game.
Thepredictorng.com also understands that Ezenwa is rated highly by Rohr who now wants to give Uzoho a chance to start his first international game for Nigeria.
Uzoho made his debut in Nigeria’s 4-2 win over Argentina in an international friendly at the Krasnodar in Russia last November.
