Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Kwara United have shown their head coach John Obuh the exit door, thepredictorng.com can report.
According to the club, they have agreed to “mutually” part ways with the former Nigeria under-20 men’s head coach after a string of poor results which has left Kwara United in bottom place in the country’s top division.
Kwara United described Obuh’s time with the club in the top-flight as “not too impressive” leading to departure which looked inevitable after he was recently handed a three-game ultimatum to salvage their poor run.
“The management of Kwara United FC has mutually agreed to part ways with its technical adviser John Obuh following the not too impressive performance of the club in the Nigeria Professional Football League,” the Ilorin club announced on Monday.
The decision comes just a day after Kwara United held El-Kanemi Warriors to a 1-1 draw at home.
However, the sack of Obuh is happening after he oversaw two of the three-match deadline given to him by the club to save his job.
Kwara United further stated that they will name a new head coach though thepredictorng.com has learnt that former Niger Tornadoes manager Abubakar Bala is in line to replace Obuh.
Obuh led Kwara United to return to the top division from the second tier but has lasted just 12 matches in charge.
